  • Monitoring: IoT-based sensors track temperature and humidity changes, supported by thermal imaging cameras.

  • Projects:

    • Gimhae City (2024): Reduced surface and indoor temperatures in apartment buildings.

    • Nationwide Demonstration Sites (2021–2024): Monitored cooling effects of reflective coatings in urban areas.

2. Cooling Fog Systems for Public Spaces

  • Objective: Use evaporative cooling to lower ambient temperatures in outdoor environments.

  • Monitoring: Temperature sensors positioned at varying distances to evaluate cooling effects.

  • Projects:

    • Yecheon-gun (2021): Installed fog systems to provide relief from heat in vulnerable community areas.

3. Shading Structures for Thermal Comfort

  • Objective: Block direct sunlight and improve thermal comfort in public spaces.

  • Monitoring: Data loggers measure temperature differences under shading structures versus open areas.

  • Projects:

    • Incheon City (2021): Enhanced comfort in parks, playgrounds, and transit stops.

4. Small Water Paths for Urban Cooling

  • Objective: Passive cooling through water channels in parks and public spaces.

  • Monitoring: IoT sensors track temperature variations in water-cooled and sunny areas.

  • Projects:

    • Sangju City (2023): Demonstrated effective cooling in public park environments.

5. Mobile Climate Monitoring Systems

  • Objective: Assess Urban Heat Island (UHI) effects using mobile IoT-based sensors.

  • Capabilities: Monitor temperature, humidity, wind speed, and air quality in real-time.

  • Applications: Flexible deployment across urban areas to inform targeted mitigation strategies.

6. Smart Parks and Green Infrastructure

  • Dongtan City (2024): Installed floor fountains and IoT sensors to monitor microclimates in smart parks.

  • Yeongwol Chilrangi Valley (2024): Used cart-based monitoring devices to collect environmental data for ecosystem preservation.

7. IoT Solutions for Disaster Prevention

  • Rural Reservoir Monitoring (Development Stage): Solar-powered sensors for flood and disaster risk management.

  • Anti-Snow Solutions (Daejeon City, 2024): Heat coils installed on icy roads for improved safety.

Our Data-Driven Approach

  • IoT sensors installed at test sites transmit real-time data to a cloud server, enabling seamless monitoring and analysis. Through this approach, Airple provides measurable insights that drive impactful climate solutions.
